If indeed it was purposeful and the back pedal was because of that it is henous and awful, nothing less than a first degree murder charge would be appropriate. I was simply saying however that the police cover up is more indicative of ‘standard’ police practice in a situation like this.

We agree. This issue has me fired up. I do not believe that it was an intentional shooting, I believe hat the cop was wrong for pulling and leveling his weapon when, Clearly they were in no life threatening danger. Ask the Chief of Police if it is practical for a citizen witness to request that other officers perform an arrest (of the shooter) in such cases?
Until a trial is concluded, how do we know the officer’s guilt/innocence, and to what degree the JURY finds?
By engaging in a conspiracy and NOT performing this arrest of their colleague, they now all must stand federal conspiracy charges.
Im not so sure keep in mind that the officer first assaulted the victim and was bullying him yet the victim still submitted to the officer’s thuggish actions, then the officer pulls out his gun puts it to his back and pulls the trigger. I mean if there wasn’t the previous incident of the officer assaulting the victim then I could see how it might have been an accident. But once you put it in context, it seems much more likely to have been intentional. Thats my two cents.
Accidental or not, he killed someone, that makes him a murderer. If accidental is your excuse every time a cop shoot and kill someone innocent, what do you call the Cops that was shooting Sean Bell?

I was not at the Bell incident, so I can’t be totally sure on what happened. As far as I know, if I’m not mistaken, Bell had something in his hands or did a move that let the policeman think he was in danger.

this kind of thing has happened many times in the history of this country.and all too often covered up by those sworn to protect and also those in the judiciary.a young man is dead and a daughter is fatherless.the officer had no reason to elevate the level of force already in use!he should be prosecuted the other officers who watched this happen should be too.

I would like to thank you for evr saying something about this. Most media out lets have said very little about this. Not to be mellodramatic but if this has been the other way around race wise. The black officer would have been in jail that night for murder.
